1958 CLASSMATES: NEXT YEAR IS OUR 50TH REUNION!!!

It’s our turn to celebrate next year! It’s time to think about our 50th reunion, so save the
weekend of June 6-8, 2008, for good food, fun and fellowship.
Friday, June 6: Golf Tournament at 8:00AM, Foster Golf Course
All School Reunion to be held at WSHS at 5:30 PM in
the school commons. Included will be socializing,
group photographs, appetizers and recognition of our class.
Saturday, June 7: Dinner and Program at the Rainier Golf and Country Club.
Festivities start at 5:30 PM
 
Brunch at 10:30 AM. Location TBD

Of the 680 or so classmates who graduated in 1958, we know of 80 classmates who are deceased, and we have about 120 lost. We are trying to locate those missing so please take a look at the Lost List section of this Chinook. The committee looks forward to having many of our classmates in attendance. Letters were mailed in January of this year and additional information will follow in the Fall.

Did You Know......
Linda Rosatto Alvar has worked for 30 years for the city of Lynnwood. Linda has 5 children and 11 grandchildren and lives with her husband David in Edmonds, WA.
Dave Baerman graduated from the U of W with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a Design Engineer for Boeing until 1969, and became an expert in designing fire sprinkler systems. Dave and his wife June have 2 children and 1 grandchild. They enjoy traveling and live in Monroe, WA
Jim Bell has worked for 26 years in paint sales and is presently working for a small import company. Jim and his wife Joy have 3 children and 4 grandchildren and live in Monroe, WA.
Jim Chandler went to Central Washington College and worked in the restaurant building and supply industry. Jim has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Jim lives in Seattle, WA

Dave Barnes attended the U of W for two years and worked in the retail photographic equipment industry for 40 years. He and his wife Alice have 7 children, 7 grandchildren and live in Federal Way, WA>

Jo Ann Companion Churchman attended college. Jo Ann has 1 child and 1 grandchild. Jo Ann is a widow, retired and lives in Seattle, WA.
Grady Irvin went to Everett JC and is retired from a career as a machinist. Grady and his wife Linda have 2 children, 4 grandchildren and live in Seattle, WA.
Juanita Kovatch Baldwin went to Highline Community College and had a career in marine insurance brokerage. Juanita has 2 children, 5 grandchildren. Juanita lives in Redmond, WA.
George Maybay went to the U of W and has worked for over 30 years as a manufacturing rep. George and his wife Barbara have 1 child and 1 grandchild. They live in Tacoma, WA.
Sharon Condit Miller has 2 children and 4 grandchildren. She loves living in Chewelah, WA, with her husband Donald. She also loves rounding up cattle on their ranch.
Geraldine Burr Phillings had a career in accounting. Geri and her husband Jim have 5 children and 10 grandchildren. They love to travel and enjoy their grandchildren.
Sharon Templeton Rebar attended the U of W and worked in food service and retail sales at Johnny’s Fine Foods. Sharon and her husband Mike have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. They live in Fircrest, WA.
Dave and Beverly Barfuss Shaffer. They married shortly after graduation and have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Dave worked for Race International-Evergreen Properties. They love to travel and mountain climb. They live in Yakima, WA
Claudia Cleveland Sweeney has 3 children and 1 grandchild. She lives in West Seattle.
Garry Treadwell attended business school and worked in accounting for Boeing for 30 years. Garry is a widower, has 1 child and 4 grandchildren. He lives in Seattle, WA.
Bertha “Boots” Spannaus Winterstein attained a BA from Valparaiso and a MA from Concordia Seminary. Bertha had a career in youth work, teaching, and as a Social Services Administrator. She and her husband Paul have 3 children and live in Seattle.
On August 26, 2006 we held our 9th Annual Class of ‘58’ Golf Tournament at Horseshoe Lake Golf Course in Port Orchard. Participating for the first time this year were Ernie King, Georgia DeBritz Huntley, Stan Kriegel, Ed Amick, Fred Collins and Stan Davis. Returning golfers were George Carter, Jim and Randy Allgire, Julian and Mike Montoya, Tim Joslin, Bob Nuber, Andy Eker, Matt Anderson, Bob Kirchner, Bill and Joyce Kirlin, Mike and Sharon Claboe, Larry Fischer, Carol Harnett Dreyling, Gerry Okada, Mel Terrana, Frank Peacocke, Randy Howard, Grady Irvin, Jim White, Ann Hardwick Kauffman, Gary Norman, Marv Peterson, John Ellis, Jim Allgire and Gary Tisdale. Cheerleaders were Sandy Thompson Aldworth, Jon and Audrey Lowdon Tharp and Jerry and Barbara Hawkins.
50th Reunion Donations

The 10th Annual Golf Tournament will be held August 25, 2007; again at Horseshoe Lake Golf Course. Mark your calendars and come and join us for a day of fun, renewal of friendships, and fellowship.
